Manual/Mechanical Control:
If you are considering how to remove willow moss, physically raking and pulling this plant up can be an effective method of control if all fragments are removed from the water. However, physical control can be difficult. Willow moss can re-grow from any stolons or fragments remaining in the water.
Herbicide Control:
There is an option for how to kill willow moss that may offer control. While willow moss is not listed on the Aquathol K or Super K label, these products are excellent broad spectrum herbicides that kill a wide variety of plants. Our customers have had success controlling water moss with Aquathol K.
- Aquathol K/Super K (for ponds or lakes) – liquid that is diluted with water and sprayed or granules that are broadcast over the plants.
