I purchased Fluridone from Lake Restoration to treat Azolla. It has only been a few days and it is slowly receding. I only purchased a small bottle to see if it worked. I will purchase another for a 2nd application in a few weeks.

I have been using fluridone for years with lakerestoration. It is just about the only way to take care of millweed. 4 oz in our 1/2 acre pond has cleared our pond in about 2 weeks. This will keep my pond weeds at bay for a couple years after treatment it seems.

I bought this product to help control milfoil in my 3 acre and 1/3 acre ponds.Read instructions carefully and applied as directed. Mixed results. Almost completely cleared my 1/3 acre pond. The milfoil in my 3 acre turned brownish initially, but appears to be trying to make a comeback after a couple months. I carefully measured and calculated average depths for both ponds, and am pretty sure that the ppb in both ponds is pretty darn close. Both ponds are fully aereated Not sure why it was more effective in the smaller pond. Has not hurt my fish as far as I can tell.

I mixed this up in a sprayer and rowed around my 3/4 acre pond until I had put around 24 ounces of floridone in the water. And then I waited. After about a week, the duckweed started turning pale, and over the next few weeks, the pond went from a very thick layer of duckweed and water meal to a nearly perfectly clear surface (it’s been 5 weeks and there are tiny wisps of pale water meal). I did re-treat the algea growing from the bottom with copper sulfate, to make sure it didn’t take over now that it had more light. I’m thrilled with my pond now, and so are the turtles and otters! -Andrew

Our Ohio Pond was built in 1999. It was an incredible fishery, until last year when duckweed was introduced somehow. Duckweed sheeted the surface quickly. I asked various people for advice and tried netting, raking, etc. We ended up waiting for the cold weather to take it out. Unfortunately, it killed most of our big fish last year before the surface cleared for winter. Then, it came back this year in a hurry when the weather warmed up. We had aeration last year, but added more. That was not the answer we were looking for. Duckweed still grew thick over the pond surface. Duckweed is terrible for a fertile pond owner. It will starve your fish to death by blocking the Sun light and disrupting the food chain. It shades and kills good oxygen generating plants by eliminating them temporarily. Our pond has seasonal springs, so as soon as the drought hit and the water stopped flowing out of the pond outflow pipe, we added Spiritflo. We noticed right away that duckweed stopped expanding , then, died slowly over about 4.5 weeks. Dont waste your time! I bought a weed net and some other things people recommended. As a very fit individual, I could not keep up with duckweed growth. What you take today, returns tomorrow. Spiritflo is a duckweed eliminator! It seems to be slowly killing cat tails as well. Curly leaf is another very annoying plant at times that seemed to perish with Spiritflo. In 4 to 5 weeks, we got our pond back. Also, we added some tilapia from a local hatchery. They are a seasonal fish in cold states. Additionally, we used enzymes/bacteria to take care of the dying plants. The pond water is now clear as an aquarium and weeds seem to be disappearing completely. There is still floating algae at the one end of the pond. We re ok with that, as it appears to be a normal. I wish, we knew about Floridone last year. We are glad to have our pond back. Fish were restocked and seem to be doing great again. If you get duckweed in a good fishing pond, call this company and speak with their staff right away. Floridone was our answer. I spoke with a female at this company and she assured me this would work. She was right. I hope this helps you keep your pond functional and looking awesome.

My one acre pond was covered in duckweed and I used Fluridone to treat it. The duck weed is now gone and my pond looks fabulous! Thanks Lake Restoration!
