Lake Restoration Introduces Mizzen™, a Copper-Based Algaecide
We are proud to introduce a new pond algaecide, a product called Mizzen™. Mizzen is a copper-based algaecide that is is designed for pond and weed control usage, including both planktonic and filamentous algae.
Algae actively grows from spring into autumn, and as summer temperatures climb, algae growth can be overwhelming without assistance. Our Mizzen™ Algaecide is an EPA approved algaecide that comes in an easy-to-use concentrate. “Algae blooms can occur every 10-14 days during the peek summer season,” says Mary Jo Furman, our Retail Sales Supervisor. “With Mizzen™, we are extremely excited to produce a product to help our valued consumers control their algae and pond scum issues with minimal effort.”
Our Mizzen™ Algaecide is available in a variety of sizes and can be used in many types of water bodies, including ponds, lakes and water gardens or features. The treatment of 2,500 square feet of surface area costs $14.75, 5000 square feet $18.95, and approximatley half an acre for $33.90. We also have Gallon packs that are available for ongoing algae management.
Our signature pond and lake weed control kits, PONDRestore® Ultra and PONDRestore® will now include Mizzen™. These popular kits will control floating and submerged weeds, eliminate algae, and reduce the nutrients that enable weed growth. With a few simple steps, you will be on your way to a beautiful, clear and healthy pond!
Our RestoreAccess® Ultra or our RestroreAccess® kit will also include Mizzen™ Algaecide to kill algae around your dock or swimming area. These all-in-one submerged weed control kit products are quickly absorbed by the plants, allowing for effective management and control in small areas of larger water bodies. The RestoreAccess® Ultra kit also includes MuckMaid® for muck and sludge removal once the weeds are under control.
Mizzen™ may be used in fresh water lakes, potable water resevoirs, ponds ,water gardens, fish hatcheries, irrigation ditches and other slow moving water bodies. It also can be used in irrigation systems, fountains, water features and other moving water. Mizzen is mixed with water and evenly sprayed across the surface or you can spot treat algae mats as needed.
