Description
Quillwort leaves grow one to three inches long and are grassy and spike like. They are arranged in a spiral and are quill like.
Leaves grow from one central stand that has a starchy corm (a little like a bulb) and roots below. Most quillworts grow in standing water, but some grow in habitats that are seasonally wet and die back to the corm when they get too dry.
There are many types of quillworts; some are native and some are not.
